Review

Overall the experience was rather mediocre, but I wanted to write this review about a specific receptionist, Deepthi, who was incredibly helpful and attentive. She stood out to me compared to the other staff and was extremely professional. If she's free when I go, then she is the person I always consult for anything. All that and she's really nice. 10/10 experience with her. ~MY

Suggested improvements
  • Honestly, everything else needs work. The surgery was clean I suppose but it could have been better. The other staff apart from Deepthi weren't the best, they just seemed like they couldn't care less. And oh my lord making an appointment there is horror. But it wasn't the worst I guess. ~MY

I have called in day before to ask for an appointment because I have a soar throat, vomiting and massive pain in my muscles and bones and this is a repeat issue having bone pain and getting sick to the point am unable to move properly. I spoke to a doctor over the phone that did not prescribe me anything on day that I called as per his advise I need to call back next day if I get worse. Funny enough I got so much worse and called in to book an appointment to come in and be seen. On the phone after speaking to the receptionist today she decided to refuse me an appointment as she decided I was already seen by a doctor so there is no point to give me one today and went in with a counter offer to come be seen on the 28th of march (am writing this on the 14 march) having to beg someone to give you an appointment like you are asking for it for fun or like you have nothing else better to do. And the way they speak to you is horrible and so dehumanising the whole experience with them. Now i have to go sit in A and E because I need help am dehydrated from vomiting in massive pain and not able to talk from my throat and spitting up blood . Thanks you to the receptionist that decided I do not need an appointment.

  • Take better care when people need medical help and don’t just throw them like they are animals and calling in for fun as to call in we take time off from work and have to call in to seek medical help and not someone being rude and making judgements out of their own will.

The most disrespectful and rude receptionist I have ever met in my life. Always hanging up the phone when talking and interrupting when answering THEIR questions. This guy specifically Mamindr, will say I’m not being rude while being rude. I have complained about him to the manager previously but nothing was done. Just shows patients needs or voice does not matter. My mum waited 3weeks for a face to face appointment to be told the day of the appointment it’s a phone call and we have to wait until 5pm. When tried to explain this to the guy (Mamindr), he was unprofessional and said well book another appointment. This receptionist delayed my mums care and he didn’t even apologise, he just hanged the phone up. 0 respect for this place.

Suggested improvements
  • Employee understanding people. Patients voice should not be ignored.

Dr Nasir, I feel blessed meeting you and I feel more blessed and happy that you were the dermatologist I was referred to by my GP, Dr Burbidge. I must say that you are the best dermatologist in the whole wide world. You did not just give me my face back but you gave me my life back as well just four months of commencing treatment. I am really grateful to Dr Burbidge for referring me to a great dermatologist. Thank you, thank you and thank you Dr Nasir. Keep up the great work. God bless you Rosemary

GP and medical staff are great however the support staff (i.e reception, admin) can be hit and miss. There a couple of great members of the admin team but they are let down by the others. The good ones will listien and do their best to help you but if you have run out of luck and have to deal with one of the bad eggs, get ready to be met with blatant disregard for your query or predicament. Misinformation, bad attitude and hideous communication skills will be your reward for daring to make contact. HMC health: I understand how difficult it can be to deal with the public at times, but your support staff really need to get their act together and understand whatever issues they may have had with other members of the public we are not all the same. As professionals in the front line it is your duty to be neutral when dealing with all members of the public, your persona when communicating comes across as someone who has no compassion. Putting the phone down without given a verbal cue that the conversation is over is what children would normally do, answering queries in a curt and abrupt manner does not make you sound good trust me. To the GP's, medical staff and the two good reception staff keep up the good work! The others should seriously consider moving elsewhere because they don't seem happy! Really hope I don't end up escalating this up the chain, but let's see what happens.

I called up the clinic on Monday the 16th September to ask to speak with someone about whether the medication prescribed to me following a blood test was correct or not and a rude operator by the name of Anu just told me I have to take an appointment and he has nothing available this week. I said, well can I have an appointment for next week, he just said its booked for next week Monday and then hung up the phone on me. He didn't ask if I had any other questions. I wanted to ask how I can get my blood test report but didn't get a chance as the operator hung up the phone. I called back again and got the same operator and said to him that he has a really bad attitude with patients over the phone. He then said to me 'if I'm done' . This i unacceptable, I was calling to inquire about the medication which is really important as I could be taking the wrong dose. The way this operator is handling calls at HOH is very poor. Patients can be under stress are usually calling for important information not for chit chat. All the calls should at least be handled politely and with some amount of patience. Overall I have had a bad experience with this operator- Anu dealing with my query very unprofessionally. I also wanted to ask for a copy of my blood results but the way the calls are being handled at HOH, it seems no one is even interested in listening to you and just want to fob you off. Also, when I asked for information to make a complaint the operator gave me a bogus email address: hmc.hoh@nhs.net. When emailed this address, the email bounced back. I'm not surprised about this at all given this person's attitude and unprofessionalism.
