The surgery is absolutely amazing at dealing with urgent care. My mother, My husband and I have all had urgent care issues and all of us could not speak highly enough about the care we received from Dr Silettoe, and Dr Banerjee. Both acted immediately and probably saved our lives. The follow up care here has been equally great. Like every work place the people in it have different characters, which also means, in this setting, the care received is variable. The general problem for huge surgeries is the care continuum which is often lacking. A problem created by our politicians rather than the doctors themselves I suspect.

  • Minor issues or long term management of general disease or illnesses are more fractured and I have often felt dismissed. For example, I contacted the GP surgery because all the toenails on both feet were turning black and falling off. The rest of my feet were peeling, itchy and painful. The whole thing was really disturbing. I was told on a text from one of the doctors the nails would grow back, that's it. In the end I went to see a private podiatrist who dealt with it all. On a separate occasion I was told I had ten minutes so the doctor could only deal with one issue "so pick one". I didn't say a word and left. I rebooked with another doctor who addressed the 'issues' which were linked, I received a hospital referral that led to surgery. My point is huge surgeries will contain different types of doctors because they are just people at the end of the day. The advantage is if you don't have confidence in one, you can rebook with another. It is important to find someone you can trust. And then prey they don't leave. I have to say the issue with the receptionists is an ongoing issue, but improving. To be fair I have seen some awful behaviour on both sides of the glass. On one occasion I drove a very very senior man from the reception area at the GP to A & E myself because he felt so ill. The receptionist would not let him see a doctor and kept telling him to phone an ambulance if he felt that ill. As it turned out A & E was the right place for him, he needed urgent care. In this situation the receptionist was very wrong not to have called a doctor. Empathy, respect and patient care have got to be key when patient facing. Equally, I have seen the abuse receptionists take when the patient is late and expects to be seen nonetheless. I have no respect for any one that demands to be seen when they are late.

Dreadful. They dictate what you get, when it suits them to give it to you, no effort to pinpoint the problem.

The experience with this GP is by far one of the worst ones we ever had. They do it all: - Forget to forward medical documents - Reschedule a mother with 3 kids, because she was 10 min late (twice), but you wait a minimum of 20 min, even if you have the appointment - we had a few occasions where the actaully lied about passing on the documents Overall, a very, very bad GP practice with absolutely no compassion to their patients. This is an honest opinion of a father of three. We are all registered with Parkshot and are dissapointed almost every time we have an encounter with them.
