I went to my GP for my memory. My dachund was in my car and it was a cold day . Left my window open slightly. The reception staff were watching my car as when I came out of the Dr's surgery a receptionist screamed at me and said they should have called the police. I stood there and cried im an ex nurse so really didn't expect staff to treat me like this . So I have raised this complaint and they are looking into it. I went into the surgery earlier today and asked to speak to the practice manager one of the receptionists was there when they screamed at me . Asked to speak to the practice manager was told she would not be interested . They really are not sorry for the way they treated me and should be reprimanded

Suggested improvements
  • Have gone to Spring Street next door . I won't tolerate this behaviour. Not an apology nothing it seems like they run the practice ?

I had a flu jab appointment yesterday The nurse who looked after was absolutely first class Polite, professional and displayed genuine care I wish I knew her name but she was the lady using Dr Senhens room. She was a real ambassador to the practice Furthermore the receptionist who answered the phone, (silver haired lady) also was very clear and easy to follow. All and all the call handling and patient care has improved markedly. I’ve been a patient since 1982 so have seen since the days of Dr Brooks and Dr Piper. Thank you

Suggested improvements
  • It may help to have headphones, as on occasions they have to deal with the more hard of hearing patients and thus have to raise their voice which then interferes with other staff who are on calls.

I had great care this week from this surgery. Managed to get an emergency appointment first thing Monday when I was very poorly. Followed up by blood test 2 days later with result and further GP follow up on the Friday. Saw lovely GP Dr Rayvel very caring considerate and reassuring - NHS at its best.

I agree with what has been said about the attitudes of the reception staff - it is as we are a nuisance - they are there to look after us and that is what they get paid for - someone needs to send these receptionists on a customer care course to try and change their attitude. also they try and fob you off when you are trying to get an appointment- not very happy with this surgery and the customer service is rubbish.

Very frustrated by this surgery. Almost impossible to get an appointment, reception staff are incredibly rude, many patients have raised this as an issue yet the practice manager does nothing to address this - under every poor review regarding reception staff there is usually a fake review declaring how wonderful they are.

Receptionists are extremely unhelpful and do no give you the time of day before dismissing your request without actually speaking to a medical professional. They are incredibly rude, including their tone and do not letting you finish your sentence before hanging up! Near on impossible to get an appointment at this surgery.

I came to have a flu vaccination today. I also asked the nurse to have my blood pressure checked . So she did and found it very high. So made me an appointment and insisted that I should see the doctor today .

Spring Street Surgery (across the corridor) had to send me over to Fountain Surgery for an ECG monitor, got an appointment at 7.40am which was great, but I couldn't check in on line (as I was referred there by my surgery, Spring Street Surgery) so I had to wait in the waiting room until 8.30 for a human receptionist to see me. The disappoint thing was that I was 1 of only 2 people in the waiting room until about 8am. I could find a human to talk to (it was my first time there) and no one thought to have a quick look around in the nearly empty waiting room. it was just a waste of a 7.40am appointment for someone else needing to get to work and a wasted hour for me to see a human. The 2 Stars for reception is more about the computer system. The receptionist at 8.30am was helpful and got me fitted in. Perhaps when the booking was made they should have known that I couldn't check in, so give me some instructions to find where I was meant to go. If the nurse knew I was 20 mins late and reception is not open, then a quick look around? Just disappointing as the services they offer are pretty good. Last part, I was meant to have a 24hr ECG and a resting ECG but was only given a 24 hrs one in the end. My doctor requested for both but this is a minor point.

By far the worst surgery I have ever come across... It's nearly impossible to get hold of reception, and even if you do persist enough to speak to someone, the receptionists are extremely unhelpful, give you attitude for no reason and treat you like nuisance. Also, every few weeks they have days or afternoons when they are closed and don't see patients! You have to wait for weeks and weeks for an appointment, regardless of your condition, and when you get to that appointment you are just rushed through with no follow up whatsoever. I have had to wait for 2 weeks for an appointment, to finally see a doctor who happened to be there temporarily to then tell me "I don't normally work here so you need to book an appointment with another doctor from the practice." In what universe is this acceptable? Unfortunately GP options in Ewell are not great so there isn't much choice, however, I would strongly recommend looking for alternatives nearby such as Sutton or Epsom!
