I have been a Gilbert House Patient for many years mainly in connection with my ears. I have a Hearing Problem which I reckon was not helped by going on the Rifle Range during National Service without Ear Protection. Preferably I see Dr A Watson who is always very Professional and extremely helpful. I recall a Consultant advising me a new Dr was joining the Practice ie Alex Watson who he thoroughly recommended which has, without doubt, proved to be the Case.

I have been involved with Gilbert House for the last 19 years, both as a patient and as the manager of a local care home. In my professional role, the surgery have always been approachable, helpful and flexible to the needs of our residents. We have a positive relationship and it is so beneficial to the well- being of our residents that they also feel trust and confidence in the doctors who visit. The Doctors and staff have assisted the home to meet the requirements placed upon us. The development of a more structured weekly visit has enabled greater monitoring and better healthcare provision. As a patient, I have always found that the reception staff are friendly and helpful, I appreciate that pressures on the healthcare system have increased the potential for delays in appointments but I have always managed to be seen in a timely manner.

I'm usually the first to leave a bad review if I feel the service I receive is way less than par. But I'm also the first to leave a review when the service has been over and above and deserves to have attention brought to it. After two separate consecutive accidents and knowing that it is futile to visit the hospital for certain broken bones, having been in a great deal of pain I called into the surgery to see if I could get a prescription for some strong painkillers. From the extremely helpful lady on reception to the doctor who squeezed me in without having a pre-booked appointment to check me over and prescribe what I needed, I was extremely grateful for the few minutes of their time to sort out my problem. This is an amazing turn around from the service that I feel I have received in the past and are happy to give them on this occasion five stars! Thank you to those involved who treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. I hope this kind of consideration filters to all the other staff at the practice and continues to improve for all of the patients.

My husband and I are new patients at the surgery. Our experience so far has been brilliant. Helpful receptionists, have been given appointments quickly and all staff have been friendly and helpful.

The experience I received in minor ops was outstanding. Dr Williams was so professional and made me feel at ease, she really deserves recognition for her work.

Dear Doctor Whitehead, This is a belated note to say many thanks for your very rapid response last Friday 4 June to my message explaining that I had fallen downstairs and was in severe pain and unable to walk. You kindly wrote a letter to Epsom A&E which my wife collected and we managed to check into the hospital straight away. Your comprehensive, succinct letter was key to instant attention and all the medical staff were efficient, patient and helpful. I had a a blood test and then an Xray which proved inconclusive so the next step was a CT scan which was unable to find any bone damage. The bruising was apparently severe and they stressed I had been lucky. In all I was there for 5.5 hours but I wanted to place on record my appreciation to you for your rapid initial response which made the rest slip into place. Now I have an awfully painful leg and thigh but it could have been so much worse. Once again, many thanks! Yours, Alan Kingston

I feel I need to say thank you to the receptionists and doctors. Whenever I go on-line to request a call - which isn't often - I receive a quick response and generally get a call from the doctor within 1 to 2 hours. I feel confident that I will be contacted and am dealt with thoroughly and if a prescription is required it is sent through to my local Boots pharmacy immediately. Recently I had to call as the antibiotic I had been prescribed was making me ill and again within 20 mins of my call the doctor phoned me, we discussed and my drugs were amended. Everyone is very quick to criticise and I think, particularly at the moment, we need to praise our practice in Ashtead, they are truly amazing. When I listen to other family and friends who attend different practices there is no comparison to Ashlea Medical Practice in Ashtead. A great time and I appreciate all their help.
