When I arrived at the shop the person behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. Before seeing the Optometrist, some previous checks by another person. This experience was rather negative and made me feel upset and uncomfortable; I could feel this person was not paying attention, she asked me a question and left without waiting for a response and rushing the tests without leaving me enough time to prepare. If this would have been my first customer experience in this shop, I would not come back. My experience with the Optometrist was extremely different; she was attentive, carrying out all the tests sensitive and professionally and addressing the main issues and concerns very adequately and to the standards I would expect from Boots.

I had a free couple of hours & was able to get an appointment within 15 minutes. So helpful. I wasn't aware that as my mother has glaucoma I was entitled to free eye test despite regularly being asked my family history at other opticians.

Great quality service from the staff and I like the high tech machines (even though one wasn't working). The thing I am not so keen on is the upsell of glasses, sunglasses etc. I guess that is what I expect from Boots given the reputation they have for the pharmacists being told to push people into certain kinds of health check ups to get money from the NHS. But it makes me less likely to want to buy glasses from Boots. This appointment it was not so bad compared to last time, only a more subtle plug for sunglasses and no pressure to buy glasses. Also although I booked my appointment months ago it was cancelled at short notice on the day and had to be rescheduled.
