I Tried booking an urgent blood test at my doctor's instruction so that the results would be available for a follow-up appointment the next morning. I was told no urgent appointments were available today (this is at 10:40 in the morning) and to call back tomorrow to see if there was a space then. On saying this was not a feasible suggestion, I was told to ring my doctor (at Eastfield house surgery) to have the blood test done there. On phoning the surgery, I was told they do not do blood tests. When pressed, the receptionist said she would tell the doctor the situation.

Lots. How big a problem is it to fit in an urgent blood test? It strikes me that the accountants have got hold of the service and are treating it as a business. I AM TOTALLY DISGUSTED.
