Everyone was most helpful and courteous. I was so sick but left hospital feeling better than on arrival, no vomiting, and had prescription which helped my recovery
This refers to the A&E part of my stay. I was dealt with reasonably quickly and went through a number of tests and an X-ray. I was sent home to take laxative as I was supposedly just constipated. This was wrong. I had to go back the next day when I was correctly diagnosed with a blocked bowel (small intestine). On the second visit I was dealt with reasonably quickly and a bed in the surgical ward was found for me.
Despite the initial wrong diagnosis, my overall experience of A&E was much better than I had feared having heard how bad things were from the media.
My care in the surgical ward was very good
Staff were all excellent
They made sure I was comfortable and kept informed all the time
Was very happy with my care I was seen and treated very promptly and relieved of my acute pain
Thank you to all the incredible staff
The care I received while I was in A&E was awful both the triage nurse and doctor I saw where rude and didn’t care that I was in pain and didn’t see why I should be there.
The nurses were very kind and tried to help my baby to feel better in a strange and new environment for her.
Kind staff, great with the baby just waited a long time to be seen!
The gentleman on reception was the best person I’ve dealt with at a&e. He was very sympathetic and I felt respected. I was told there would be an hours wait but it ended up being 4 hours. The care I received was a short conversation which I feel could have been done sooner. I think I made a mistake going to a&e as I wasn’t seen urgently when I needed it. I feel partly to blame.
