This refers to the A&E part of my stay. I was dealt with reasonably quickly and went through a number of tests and an X-ray. I was sent home to take laxative as I was supposedly just constipated. This was wrong. I had to go back the next day when I was correctly diagnosed with a blocked bowel (small intestine). On the second visit I was dealt with reasonably quickly and a bed in the surgical ward was found for me. Despite the initial wrong diagnosis, my overall experience of A&E was much better than I had feared having heard how bad things were from the media. My care in the surgical ward was very good

Suggested improvements
The initial diagnosis could have been better. More thorough X-rays were done on my return visit the next day.
