Attended Stanley Cohen with my mother for an appointment with Mt Barry and Amanda O'Connor (breast care nurse) Offering feedback in good spirit in the hope it might trigger some reflection. Felt and distinct lack of empathy from Amanda, not particularly warm of friendly and not prepared to receive feedback openly and graciously. Nursing is much more than a job or a process, body language, empathetic response and self- awareness go a long way to improving a patient experience.
