Respite for husband. Enjoyed CT therapies (hand massage). Good support from peers in group. Enjoyed education sessions and learnt new information.

The teachers were excellent. I would have liked a sheet of exercises to give with the singing. Nice, comfortable chairs.

Review of Bereavement written by a patient

The care and help I received has been invaluable. Wendy and Mary (Colchester) have been amazing and I'm not sure how I could have coped without their help and advice. I feel that the group bereavement session could be longer. An hour and a half goes so fast, It would also be good to have it for longer in terms of weeks.

My care was and still is excellent. I do not consider that it could be improved. Attendant nurse Nichol.

Good 1. Small group. 2. No pressure to talk. 3. Can talk if want to. 4. facilitators were very caring and empathetic. 5. Clients encouraged to talk amongst themselves without too much input from staff. 6. Fantastic venue in lounge, cosy and very comfortable. The group would have had a totally different feel to ut if it had been in a clinical room. 7. The group was caring of each other and encouraged each other to maybe see different things in their situation. 8. The room was full of empathy. Improvements: 1. To make the group meet for 2 hrs as the time went too quickly.

Rick Armstrong who came and saw us was very caring and thoughtful and is only a phone call away if needed. He was very helpful at this time.

Mary and Wendy were extremely helpful. I found I could say whatever I wanted to without worrying. They both made it so lovely and relaxed. Many thanks.

I felt my bereavement counsellor was excellent and has really helped me with my grieving experience. She was sensitive, kind and thoughtful and I have come away with a lot of useful tools in order to cope in crisis times.
