Seeing triage was very quick then it was hours of being sat about with a 1year old which was too long
Not by the lady on reception. My mother is 86 and stood at reception 5-10 minutes before acknowledge. I told her to st down and I would book her in. This lady at reception was clearly typing but no recognition or asked if we could wait a moment. Absolutely nothing and we were the only patients there waiting for an Eco. Very poor customer service. No warmth, explanation or anything. Luckily I could get my mum to sit; even though I was treat the same. Almost felt intrusive waiting to check in. I hope no-one else has to feel like this with this receptionist particularly the elderly or poorly. Appointment was 22 May at 11.30 am at DHH
The new A and E facility was clean and well planned and such an improvement on the old one.
From arrival to departure all staff were pleasant and considerate and explained what was happening and why.
The offer of a cup of tea in the cubicle was unexpected but welcome.
There were many other patients but the privacy cubicle arrangement made it feel less hectic and busy.
Understandably there were delays waiting for blood test results and xrays.
However, this did not distract from a first class service.
We were impressed by the staff who had to deal with a particularly challenging patient.
Was in A&e for just over 8 hours and ive also been left with bruises all over my body
Absolutely the staff were fabulous, kind, compassionate from the hca, nurses & the fabulous dr who ensured I received all the tests I needed. The new A & E department is outstanding.
All staff were polite and friendly very accommodating and made sure you was comfortable
Sat in A&E 5 hours. Waited 2 hours for pain relief. Very slow service.
All staff were caring, they listened and ensured that my father received appropriate care immediately.
The staff were very experienced and caring. In fact they were amazing. They are a total credit to Scunthorpe hospital and the NHS
Because we were treated well
