Review of Fast Access Chest Pain clinic written by a patient
10th April 2018

Many questions are asked and it is possible to be caught off guard and forget or it could be a symptom that has 'crept up on us'; something that you remember at a later stage.Perhaps it is age and we are not as mentally agile, a little more time is needed. My suggestion is a small questionnaire; offered in paper and electronic form for us to complete before being seen.

Review of Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgery written by a patient
9th April 2018

I was advised to go to A&E after visiting my dentist to have a tooth repaired, following a fall the week before, as she suspected I had a fractured jaw. After visiting A&E I had X-rays and a nice young man from Max Fax came to talk to me after reviewing them. He was so kind, helpful and reassuring. I was dealt with after only a short delay and the treatment I received that day was second to none. I left with brackets, trauma bands, instructions on how to deal with them and an appointment for 2 weeks later. On every occasion I have attended the department since - for follow up appointments, I have never been dealt with by the same person. But that didn't detract from the care I was given. I was always told what was going to happen next, and why, and asked if that was ok. If I winced at any time during my treatment, they stopped what they were doing, apologised for the discomfort and always asked if I was ok and if they could continue. You often only hear about 'bad' treatment from the NHS, so it is nice to be given the opportunity to provide some positive feedback and to thank the staff for their care, and I cannot praise the staff who handled my treatment highly enough. Many thanks for your kindness and care.

Review of Day Surgery Unit written by a patient
3rd April 2018

The clinical care and engagement was excellent, but the time keeping for appointments was terrible. Every outpatient appointment attended was at least 40 minutes late from the booked time (despite being early morning appointments). This was explained by reception staff as being due to ‘unforeseen and unexpected’ issues .... surely if this happens everyday as it appears, then it should be ‘expected and anticipated’ and factored in to patients timings. These delays introduce extra costs in car park fees and impacts on patients plans for child care and work.

Review of Eye Outpatients written by a patient
30th March 2018

The care and attention I received was excellent as it has been on prior visits. The only criticism I have is about appointments. I am currently on an eye injection every 8 weeks but I have had to chase for an appointment time right up to the last day every time I am due for an injection. The is always worrying as our postal service is unreliable so the possibility of a letter being lost in transit can be high.

Review of Respiratory Day Ward written by a patient

there is nothing that I could suggest that would improve what is already available, as everything to do with the department and staff is first class.

I had a planned c-section and from start to finish was very impressed with the level of care. It made my whole birthing experience more enjoyable than my previous 2. The midwives on the post natal ward were all lovely and Helen, with the dark brown bob and nose stud was very helpful the whole day and evening as was Juliette the next day in ensuring we were well looked after whilst processing a speedy discharge which is what we wanted
