Review of Cardiac admission avoidance clinic written by a patient
9th August 2018

I did have to wait for my appointment but I was kept informed about the delay. When I did have my appointment the staff members were very friendly and eager to put me at ease. The nurse was very professional and helpful in gathering information and then providing me with an action plan. I was very pleased with my appointment and the service I received.

Review of Eye Outpatients written by a patient

My last appointment was the first one in a long time that I was contacted and given an appointment within the timescales indicated at my last visit. Normally I have to phone to get this. I understand that patient volumes can vary but you wonder if the appointment has been overlooked when you hear nothing at the expected time. Getting an appointment using the online system is an absolute pain as you have to scrollback through the calender month by month to set you DoB. It takes absolutely ages and needs to be changed urgently. The staff are aware but nothing has changed since I raised this verbally before.

Review of Cardiology Treatment Clinics written by a patient

I had an echocardiogram performed by a delightful female technician - wish I could recall her name. Used to work in UHS and moved to QA I think about 7 years ago. Totally professional and great bedside manner. She gets 5 stars! My one request is that the reception staff are more welcoming and friendly - hence the 4 stars. A smile, eye contact and to show a bit of interest costs nothing. Nor were any checks made about my personal details - address, telephone number, GP etc which I thought was standard. I have worked at QA and am pretty sure this should have happened - suspect it was a marker of general disinterest. Shame really because otherwise it was such a positive experience.

Difficult to say how health care professional can improve, I am an OAP but recognise that everyone did their utmost during my visit to A & E to keep me informed of what was being done for me the Charming Consultant to the equally charming Foundation Doctors. Even my visit for a CT scan was eased by the friendly manner of the porter and the Imaging Department. Prolonged aa my visit was it eased by the frequent with medical staff. I could not have asked for more

Review of Bone density written by a patient

I was greatly impressed by the service received. I was informed at each stage of the scan and the person was extremely helpful and informative putting me completely at ease. There was a wait but not a lengthy one and this I appreciate could only be improved by more NHS funding/more staff etc. A very satisfactory visit!

Review of E2 written by a patient
3rd August 2018

On my last morning we had the house keeping team on the ward. Whilst I do appreciate there is never a good time in such a busy place, I do feel the job of washing the floor and changing all curtains could off been handled more professional. One lady on the ward had her bed put outside in the corridor and it took around 2 hours to come back, this lady was in pain and waiting for surgery and sitting in a chair caused her discomfort. The house keeping team freely stood in the ward complaining about the amount of work they had to do in a short time scale. While again I appreciate there is no good time for these jobs being done. I think more respect should be shown in future.

Excellent service and whilst waiting in the waiting room the nurses ensured you were kept up to date and not just left sitting there for hours on end. I would say this is an extremely efficient service and all the staff were extremely polite and friendly. Well done!

Clean welcoming environment greeted with friendliness. Wait was far shorter than expected then a very friendly introduction. Question asked in a relaxed manner made to feel very comfortable. everything was explain and assisted with any help needed. When examined it was explained by the young lady what happened next. I felt reassured from entering the department to exiting that I was being looked after in a very profession manner.
