Review of Eye Day Case written by a patient
23rd March 2020

Information re individual waiting time could be improved. 1st cataract op. booked for 13.00. 03 Feb. Arrived, assessed & op performed within one hour. 2nd cataract op. booked for 13.30. 17 Mar. Arrived & assessed immediately but had to wait 3 hours for op. while others who arrived almost 2 hours after me, went in first! 1st op. No problems at all. 2nd op. Swollen, sore eye, painful prickling, very blurred vision, extremely bloodshot. Called given number & was called back next day. Was given reassurance that these symptoms sometimes occur & to call again after a week if no improvement. Symptoms almost gone & now confident that all is well. Throughout the whole experience, all staff members were excellent.

Everyone from the 111 operator, 111 doctor, the call from the ambulance service, the ambulance crew, all the staff in A and E, the radiographer, bloods, the doctors and nurses on the ward, the domestic staff on the ward and not forgetting the chef! What can I say they were all FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

Less time waiting around would be extremely nice. More than 1 cup of tea would be wonderful

Visited the A and E department then into minors with my father who fractured his hip. They were obviously having to use extra precautions due to the coronavirus outbreak but all staff were calm courteous and friendly. As a nurse myself and with my father being in the vulnerable category due to health matters and his age we were seen in extra fast time , had an x ray and orthopaedic registrar had seen us within a couple of hours. Well done to the whole team you are doing a great job

Review of Dermatology written by a patient
19th March 2020

Today I visited St Marys, was seen by the consultant promptly at my appointment time and diagnosed swiftly and in language I could understand and given a very good leaflet on my Basal Cell Carcinoma. Then whilst next steps were being advised, I raised issue of surgery required being within the recommended 12 week virus isolation for the at risk members of the public. Without any hesitation surgery availability was checked and I was given a slot within 20 mins. Promptly I was in surgery with Dr Corden and her nurse who explained easily the procedure. care required to get home and aftercare. Again this was all confirmed with easy to follow information. To me a fine example of our NHS of whichwe have and should be so proud

Review of B7 written by a patient
12th March 2020

If I could have added a sixth star for "kindness and compassion" I would, everyone I on the ward was fantastic. I hesitated to knock a star off the "timely information about your care" score, only because it wasn't always clear how long we were going to be kept on the ward for observations, or what test/obs we were waiting on. This wasn't a big deal, but being a little more informed would have been even better than the outstanding care we did receive. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

My Dad was admitted to Resus on Wed, 4 March 2020. Unfortunately I cannot remember the Drs name we saw who looked after my Dad. However, I cannot fault and praise enough his care and understanding not just for my Dad who has advanced Alzheimer’s and is very difficult to treat but to my mum and myself. I have never met a Dr so kind, caring and understanding. He went above and beyond and took the time with us all, thank you so much.

Fantastic care given to my Dad each time he has been admitted over the last few years. Every single Dr or Nurse has gone above and beyond to care for him. Couldn’t fault them they were amazing. Thank you so much. Your work and dedication is outstanding.

Review of Endoscopy written by a patient
11th March 2020

The service I received this morning in the Endoscopy department was excellent. ALL members of staff that I interracted with were polite and courteous. The department ran very smoothly despite having unexpected room closures. Staff were apologetic even though the closures were beyond their control. The team in the Colonoscopy department were very kind and reassuring. They put me at my ease straight away, with some fun and laughter too (Cecilia). Kirsty (Nurse Endoscopist) and her team kept me relaxed and informed at all times. My time spent in the recovery room was once again friendly and informative. Well done The Endoscopy department this is obviously a well run department and is an exemplar of how the NHS should be.
