I am so glad I went on the course, the staff were kind and friendly, it was nice to talk to some of the others who had the same sort of problems I have. I hope I will have the will power to continue the exercises. Thank you very much it helped me a great deal. Fatigue and breathlessness group.

Review of Counselling Outpatients written by a patient

This was my first time in counselling, and despite the hugely difficult circumstances I can honestly say the sessions have gone a long way to improving my general well-being and outlook on life. My counsellor, Sammie, was very patient, welcoming and genuinely took an interest into my life, helping find ways in which I could better understand and deal with the problems now facing me. I was never under any pressure nor made to feel at all uncomfortable by my counsellor. Despite feeling uneasy at times due to the nature of the conversation, she always made sure I was in an ok place before moving on/ending the session. This experience has not been easy but I will miss my sessions. Having the chance to discuss my loss or rant about my current situation to someone has been a huge help so my thanks again to my counsellor for the way she dealt with things. I will miss these sessions and would quite happily have continued for a while longer. However I understand this is not possible and have been advised on a number of other services I can turn to for further support when needed.

I had previously had a few sessions with another counsellor but as I unavoidably missed a few sessions it was decided to leave things for a while as it appeared I was not committed enough....this was upsetting as it was not the case. However I later started again with another counsellor, who I have been extremely happy with. I found her to be excellent in all ways and I was totally committed to our sessions. She was on my wavelength totally and her support could not have been better. Unfortunately we couldn't have the last 2 sessions which I was unhappy about but overall she has been the best!

Our son was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in June 2018. He was 51 years of age and it came as a devastating shock to all the family. We lost our son on April 29th and it has been a very hard and difficult journey. We as a family are still grieving but we take each day at a time. We were recommended by a friend to approach Longfield and we are indented to all the staff their for their help and support, and on my behalf especially Holly who was just fantastic, I could ramble on about all the things that has happened to us all and I want to thank her so much. Our son is at rest a peace and as Holly said we must make our memories count and keep talking about him and crying if we have too. Thank you Long field so very much.

It was nice to meet other people in the none poution as me. I found it a bit difficult when none people were allowed more time to express thoughts and others only given a short time. Volunteers were really great.
