Reviews
Overall the service was good because it was insightful.
Rules not always made clear to patients and
Dependent on factors that are obscure to the patients.
This lack of "control" and clarity on routine/rules is perceived
With frustration by most of the patients.
Sometimes legitimate questions like time of the review
Or if it is possible to have a bath are answered with rolling eyes
Or visible frustration from staff (like rolling eyes or annoyed
tone of voice).
When I asked if I could know the procedure to fill up
A complaint, staff was "unaccomodating" with my request
And visibly annoyed.
When on overnight leave, all my personal items have been
removed without notice and communication.
Patients are not in control of the access of their own room
or bathroom as the bathrooms are locked and often no key
for the room is given to the patient.
Staff access without knocking or waiting for response in
bathroom or bedroom.
Generally I felt that the environment was detrimental for
my health as very stressful and noisy apart from some patients
and staff.
My treatment has been very helpful.
Staff lack of training and education in mental illness
Poor facilities
Terrible food
No targeted therapy
Felt drugged up rather than being treated
Felt treated like a number rather than a person
I felt respected and empowered by the staff at the Rainbow unit, I wouldn’t be where I am today without them and their kindness to myself and my daughter I would specially like to thank Jodie, Nadine and biji
Terrible place, been verbally diagnosed with bpd and bipolar then when they went away they decided i had ‘nothing as serious as bipolar’ (quote from a letter sent to me. Looking at the reports on why they came to the conclusion of this, I discovered that they was severe negligence as there where many wrong facts about what happened at the assessment and statements upon my clothing race etc which i found insulting. There were statements within this that where not true and this has drastically made my health worse. It didn't help that the phycatrist didn't write any notes and was almost falling asleep in the assessment- which took place at my house due to not trusting the linden centre after the first assessment and severe social anxiety. I have made two complaints against them which have not been resolved and my doctors even tried getting them to change their decision to help me, but was ignored. Will be going elsewhere. Do not trust this place!!
Was refered here after a incident work at which caused extreme anxiety and depression. Was put on homecare which i was nervous about but from the start the staff here were amazing, caring and took the extra time required when needed. NHS may be suffering but thank god for great staff like these
I have just come out of Finchingfield Ward (men's ward) having spent 3 months there following a nervous breakdown. I received excellent care and could not find fault with anything; the nurses, doctors and health care assistants were fantastic and did a brilliant job, often in the face of very difficult and trying circumstances. The food was good and bedrooms very comfortable. Following discharge I am receiving 'aftercare, and am being visited regularly in my own home.
