Review of Wellbeing @ Cynthia Spencer written by a patient
27th February 2019

Tai Chi was taught really well. Would like to practice what I've learned much more. Learning form in eight weeks was great and long enough. Would like to be able to practice learning I would like more classes across the week here in day hospice.

Thank you for the positive feedback on the Tai Chi group. This is the first course we have run and have received a lot of positive feedback including the request for 'follow on' sessions. We are presently looking at how this could be accommodated later in 2019, but we have to ensure this does not replace other valuable sessions

Tai Chi. 1. New course was very well delivered. 2. Suitable chairs without arms must be available. 3. Very sympathetic to those who were limited to some of the actions.

Tai Chi. A very positive and inclusive course. Could be enhanced by some form of follow on. Maybe via online group for motivating etc.

Review of Lymphoedema Palliative Care Team written by a patient

Cannot think of any improvement that could have been made to my treatment or appointments. I was treated in a professional but sympathetic way and have already noticed a definite improvement in my symptoms. Thank you.

Treat as an individual, with informed attention to personal situation and requirements. All staff displayed a caring honesty and professionalism and knowledge that gave confidence in treatment and outcome. Took steps to fit with my circumstances and expedite treatment. As a result I felt confident in treatment, positive re-effect and my ability to continue treatment management myself.

There are not enough words to praise and thank these wonderful people. During the hard, heartbreaking days of looking after my wonderful, brave dad they were so supportive, calm, caring and professional and I will never forget them.

My husband and I cared for his sister who died after a short illness. Fortunately we were able to manage for the first few months and it was only towards the end of her life that we needed more support staff were willing/keen to help however the transition shape between agencies led to mixed messages/confusion. Fortunately this was eventually sorted the patient died peacefully. We will be forever grateful for your end of life support!

Response from Cynthia Spencer Hospice

Thank you for your positive feedback on the Hospice at Home service. The feedback regarding communication between multiple agencies is something that providers of end of life care are continuing to work on. We are aware that it can be difficult to get the correct information between different providers and we are looking at how best to achieve this.
