Review of Northamptonshire Integrated Sexual Health Service (Northampton)
28th November 2022

Lots of services have been taken away since Covid. Drop in sexual health clinics are an absolute must. You will see people not coming in to be tested because of the removal of this service.

Suggested improvements
Sexual health drop in services need to start. It shouldn't take a week just to have a phone call and then hopefully you'll get seen. How is that even seen as good service?

Thank you for your feedback, we have reinstated some drop ins however these are limited to younger people. We will review this further as part of our recovery planning. The use of an appointment booking however does allow us to assess who you need to see to ensure you are directed to the correct clinic/ health professional 1st time.

Review of 0-19 Service Immunisation Team
28th November 2022

The nurses were kind & helpful with my child, and answered any questions I had. Improvement is for the system in general, there is no where local for me to get my son the covid vaccine. He suffers greatly with chronic asthma and recurrent chest infections. He is under 3 consultants at 3 different hospitals, yet there is no where local for me to take him for a vaccine. Our doctors surgery only vaccinate the over 65. I just find this ridiculous when my son has course after course of antibiotics for chest infections, he should be allowed a dose of the covid vaccine at his doctors.

Thank you for sending through your comments after visiting our clinic and we are pleased that you had a positive experience when meeting our immunisation team. With regards to your struggle to access the Covid vaccine, sadly as a school aged immunisation service we are no longer delivering this vaccine and it is now under the national NHS delivery programme so suggest your concerns should be raised with your GP surgery and or via the Covid helpline via 119 .
