I attend aquanatal run by community midwives and it is the best thing!....for baby and me....the exercise is very helpful. It's also lovely to have time with other mums to be and time to yourself if you have other children. The commitment and knowledge of Debbie and carol is great. In addition the antenatal care I have received by the team at my doctors surgery and women's unit has been excellent.....for my previous and current pregnancies. Thank you community midwives!
Really enjoy the aquanatal classes, run by lovely ladies, a great way to safely keep fit and mobile and meet people.
Also want to say a big thank you to Judy Jenkins the midwife at Barnard Castle Surgery. extremely capable and genuinely seems to care about her patients, very organised and efficient. Inspires great confidence.
I have attended the antenatal aqua aerobics's class since September 2013 and I have enjoyed these classes immensely. Due to these classes been ran by midwifes they are happy to help you with all issues/worries/concerns/advise, etc you may need.
Unfortunately I had to go out of my area to attend these classes which is a big shame and I think more people would attend these classes if they were closer to home and at better times and have transport.
Not only are the midwifes very good and very friendly with years of experience the ladies who have attended this class have been lovely. Also these women who live in this area and attending these classes are seeing and having a better relationship with their midwife, unlike myself who has up to now seen 7 different midwifes (not including the 2 midwifes to take these classes!!). I am lucky to say I have had a healthy pregnancy and haven't needed any additional help or support.
I have had excellent care from my midwife Janet Straker since day one, she makes me feel at ease and explains things in normal terms so I'm not baffled, she has given far superior care during this pregnancy than the care i received during my last pregnancy under the care of different midwives. i trust her and her decisions thoroughly.
I feel I have been well looked after and been given good advice.
