The staff were super friendly and helped me feel at ease. They were informative and able to answer any questions I asked. They gave good information regarding my chosen contraception and the removal/fitting was done easily with minimal discomfort. However, due to low staff numbers the bag that was packaged for my implant had the incorrect needle inside and the HCA couldn’t find the buzzer to ask for help, this is a little unsettling during the appointment but the staff member stayed calm, kept me calm and continued successfully.

Suggested improvements
The layout at St James’ is a little difficult to navigate. When I initially went, there was someone waiting to be seen that the staff were unaware of because of poor instructions regarding what to do when you arrive (for example, a sign saying please knock for assistance on the door as some people assume that it’s a treatment room rather than where to speak about appointments).
