There is a handful of staff that appear to really care but the majority after very little care and compassion. Communication is lacking and here is attendancy to after PRN after offering alternative solutions I have after felt ignored and that I have not been acknowledged in a day.
Suggested improvements
- Timely appointment slots forward round, clearly communicated ahead of time.
- More care and compassion particularly at night time staff.
- Time and space to discuss feelings/difficulties rather than just offering PRN.

I love all the OT's and having the art room makes me very happy and [name removed] always opens it.
Suggested improvements
OT to have activities at weekend- and during week.
Activity room open more.
Better healthy food and no buffets.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is something that has been discussed in the past few weeks and we have plans to start a supper club with healthy food and other activities for the evenings and weekends.

Some staff at night were not very supportive when I was crying about my dead husband.

I was very saddened to hear that there was a lack of support from some night staff to which this was fed back to the team at the time of the review. I, as Ward Matron, made regular contact with and all regular nursing staff- know the service user very well- and was able to support her through this difficult time. The Chaplaincy service support was also imperative and attended the ward with regularity to help and this was essential to the service user's care and treatment.

my daughter is in the care of berrywood again, and the it is the first time that we have had support being her parents, usually we do not, meaning that no one listens or we have no knowlege of what is being discused about our child. it is so nice to have someone to listen to us and help with understanding how berrywood is trying to help our daughter. this illness is very lonely and no one understands how, what or where.
thank you for being there for us and hopefully we will not need your service for a very long time

Supported as my perspective as a patient overall, also witnessing very good levels of care other wards other patients. Clean, therapeutic well facilitated environment. Thank you all very much.

Just a bit more notice of an 'actual confirmed' discharge, as I were only informed when it was seen that I had not packed ready to leave, due to no formal and confirmed notice of discharge.
The time were a little hard to operate, especially in the canteen area.
