Generally I have found the surgery to be very good and helpful and I am really grateful. However, I strongly feel that the receptions need training for mental health first aid. Just before Christmas I called the surgery in the midst of a mental health crisis and reception had no idea how to manage this. I appreciate it must have a been a distressing phone call to hear, however I was in an emergency state and the receptionist I spoke to was brash, firm and showed no understanding whatsoever. Thankfully after I hung up (after being told they couldn’t help me) I managed to call a friend who talked me round and essentially saved me from doing something dangerous. The result of the conversation I had with your receptionist could have been a great deal more serious. I phoned the surgery in desperate need. I was on the edge and you literally turned your backs. I think there really does need to be more training an understanding.
As always our family always receive the best of care at the surgery.
We find everyone to be friendly and helpful.
Today was for a routine blood test which was carried out by a new healthcare assistant along with a nurse.
Always more than happy with the care given.
I went to Old Town Bexhill yesterday. The nurse took blood from my arm without any pain or bruising. She answered my one question easily.
Used the automatic screen,so can answer about the receptionist.
Did not make appointment you text me.
Other wise nurse was very good and caring.
Everyone was very kind and helpful throughout. It was easy to make an appointment in advance with the nurse for my son's jabs. The use of the TV screens to announce appointments made me feel confident I hadn't missed someone calling our names!
Little Common Surgery was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2024 for delivering outstanding care.
