It’s trickier than it used to be. Long message to listen to on the phone and usually not possible to get an urgent appointment if you don’t ring at 8 am on the dot (and even then you’re in a long queue) . Non-urgent appointments are usually at least a week’s wait. Having said that I didn’t make an appointment this time, I was called for a routine blood test. I’ve used Engaged Consult a few times to get a message to the GP and the long list of questions you have to answer is very trying as there’s usually no option for not relevant/don’t know. However it usually works after you’ve struggled through it.

Suggested improvements
This appointment was fine. Routine blood test as I mentioned, and the surgery called me rather than me requesting an appointment. All went very smoothly.
