My G.P is always helpful and interested. Does actually listen to my concerns. Has always been supportive and compassionate.
- Very difficult to get any appointment other man by speaking directing to GP - seems to undermine system.
- I only contact GP if absolutely necessary I do not want to explain my symptoms to an untrained medical receptionist who is speaking to me in open non confidential area.
- Phone is constantly engaged when attempting to ring for appointments am. Not everyone able to call this hour.
Try to get through by phone before 9 am.
I've been a patient at this Surgery since my birth in 1954 so I remember Drs Naylor, Miles and Macfadyen. I was very ill in 2014 and, although I hadn't been to the surgery more than once in 20 years I was pleased to find that the care was just as good and although I wasn't too pleased about being sent to hospital it did save my life!
One thing I would change if I was in charge would be to add another phone line as it is difficult to get through in the mornings, especially Mondays.
The online system is great but it would be good if we could make appointments with a nurse online. At present we can only make appointments with doctors and Health Care Assistants.
Thorough examination.
Patience of the doctor.
If all receptionists answered the phone like they this morning (Jo) It would be made very easy conversation/understanding.
