Having spent over 40 mins on hold, I was told I needed to collect a sample bottle for my daughter and she could not speak to a doctor until this sample had been tested (which needed to be in by 1100). I duly delivered the sample and explained that my daughter was in real discomfort. I was again told that she would not be seen or consulted until the results were back. 24 Hrs later, no response and no consult. I then spent 1 hr 40 mins on hold with no answer, so I hung up and went in! I was told her results we not back but that I would get a call from the Dr that afternoon. I waited..... and waited.... but no call. So I spent another 40 mins on hold! When I did speak to somebody that told me an appointment had been made for the next day, some 48 Hrs + after my daughter was initially in pain. to add further insult, her results were back, she needed some Antibiotics, but no prescription had been actioned. The lady on the phone was rightfully apologetic. I am now waiting (unconvinced) for a text to say I can collect my daughter's medicine. Not really a great service!

Suggested improvements
1. Answer the phone, very few people have over an hour to just sit and wait on hold. I was in meetings with the phone on speaker just in case somebody answered. (I shouldn't have worried, because they didn't). 2. Don't tell people you will call them back today if you're not going to. Manage our expectations. 3. Action the prescriptions when they have been confirmed as required, this will allow patient to start the recovery process much earlier than having to wait for the surgery to be reminded.
