After getting lost in the bureaucratic labyrinth of the NHS for some 5 weeks, I finally got to see Mr.Ellis. He listened intently to my problems and after a rigorous examination which included an X-ray, explained the complexities of my case in a clear, structured manner. I felt an immediate trust in Mr. Ellis and look forward to my next appointment.

Thank you so much for this feedback. Listening to every patient is so important as each patient provides the key to their own diagnosis as long as we as doctors listen carefully. With kind regards Simon Ellis

A heartfelt thank you to this highly skilled surgeon for making a major contribution to the health and well-being of our family. Simon's Mission Statement says: "I give the same quality of care to my patients as I would want my family and friends to receive". Having treated my son for 2 serious knee injuries in 2010 & 2017 and then myself for ACL reconstruction in 2018 I can assure you that he is a consummate professional, genuinely caring and absolutely true to his word. If you happen find yourself in the unfortunate situation of needing a Knee Surgeon I really couldn't recommend Mr Simon Ellis more highly!

Mr Ellis gives excellent patient care, on the day of the procedure,as soon as the operation was finished, he phoned my husband to tell him that I was okay and the procedure went well. when I had to return to Kim's 2 days after discharge to get my wound redressed, because the it was leaking through on a Sunday, the nurse called Mr Ellis at his request and he made immediate arrangements to see it for himself, and I have had several subsequent visits, so that he can check on it's progress. I am not sure how he could improve on his care. Mr Ellis has now replaced both of my knees, and I am looking forward to a pain free summer. Thank you. .

My local GP referred me to Mr Ellis who saw me initially on the 17/10/2017. As my wife already had an operation date for the 17/01/2018 Mr Ellis was able to fix an Operation date for a Total Knee replacement on 11/12/2017. This was to enable me to look after my wife after her own surgery. The whole experience was positive and the treatment I was given was second to none. Mr Ellis phoned my wife to tell her everything went well and I was in recovery. During the recovery I had a ’bleed’ and the dressing had to be changed and on the second occasion Mr Ellis decided that I had unfortunately developed a Haematoma which required to be operated on. Mr Ellis immediately arranged for a theatre later that evening and washed out the new knee joint and inserted a drain. I am now recovering well (06/01/2018) and am able to walk without crutches although my knee is still swollen restricting my flexing of the knee joint to approximately 45-50 degrees. This I expect to improve as the swelling goes down. Overall the care and attention provided by Mr Ellis, all the nursing staff, theatre team and auxiliary staff were exceptional and couldn’t be faulted.

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences. Sadly on occasions patients have a complication which requires a prompt return to theatre. To me it is always important to ensure that I am on hand to provide the best possible prompt care to get the best outcome. With kind regards Simon Ellis

Further to my previous review posted on the 18th November 2017. Mr Ellis has now continued with my left knee surgery (after I had to cancel last year) as promised. I felt that the day went very smoothly and I was kept well informed on what was happening throughout the day. Mr Ellis was very professional and easy to communicate with putting me at ease. I would also like to thank all his theatre team who were also very professional and caring and I look forward to the future and playing cricket again without pain.
