From the initial consultation onwards, I had great confidence in Mr Datir. He explained everything clearly and the whole experience was a positive one.

Doctor Datir was fantastic from start to finish of my treatment. He was very thorough, explanatory and made an effort to make me feel comfortable throughout the full process.

The whole set up at St Hughs is operated and managed like an organised project. If you drew a time line from initial diagnosis to discharge, it is clear there has been a lot of effort put into achieving optimum efficiency. This includes good patient communication and advice in the form of document packages. For anyone that's interested, on entry to St Hughs, take note of the detail and how well the hospital functions. The staff throughout are organised and caring. Difficult to compare to a traditional NHS hospital, but I would certainly say it could be used as a bench mark interms of quality. I reviewed the last submission from the regulator. This was excellent, however, they did mention safety could be improved. The safety term in this case was in no way referring to medical improvement, but general slip trips and falls category. On my discharge after surgery I was put in a wheelchair. This wheelchair did not any brakes, hence the nurse struggle to stabilise while getting me into a car. In my opinion the wheelchair should not have not been used and quarantined pending repair. I believe this is the type of safe issue the regulator is referring to.
