I met Mr Kian at the Lumiere Clinic, Manchester. I had an ulcerated skin lesion on my leg, which was a suspect Basal Cell Carcinoma, a skin cancer. It needed removing because I had had it nearly 9 months and it was getting larger. I am a very anxious person, but found Mr Kian welcoming, reassuring and approachable. He was very thorough and explained clearly my options for removal, the procedures he could undertake with each of these, and the resulting outcomes and time frames involved in each. I was given frequent opportunities to ask questions before the surgery and shown a photograph of what was going to be removed from my leg, which gave a good idea how large the scar was going to be. The procedure itself was painless and I felt comfortable throughout. Mr Kian again gave clear instructions to both myself and my husband who is my carer, regarding after care. The major highlights for me were, the whole process was not rushed in any way, I was reassured and welcomed by all staff, including Mr Kian, on every contact I had with the clinic, for example phone calls. This really put me at ease. Also the whole experience went smoothly and according to plan. I would highly recommend Mr Kian, as he is an engaging, highly experienced and professional doctor who inspired confidence, whilst being reassuring and approachable. Thank you Mr Kian, you have done a great job quickly and smoothly which has been a very positive experience for me.

My first meeting with Dr Tan was in outpatients where he explained the result of my biopsies and further treatment needed. He was extremely personable and was empathetic to my concerns, and I went away feeling my questions had been answered and I had a good understanding of the next step. During my day in hospital Dr Tan visited me before the procedure and went over the options. I was happy to put my faith in his professional judgement and chose the option he felt the best. During the surgery I was awake (approximately 1 hour). Dr Tan included me in conversation and made me feel at ease explaining the order of the procedures I was undertaking. After the procedure he explained clearly what I could expect during recovery and came to see me before leaving. I have spoken to him since through an outpatient telephone call and will have further follow ups. If I am need of further treatment I would not hesitate to have Dr Tan as my surgeon.
