I have been seeing Dr Patel for around 8 years. During this time he has always been kind, attentive and thorough. I have had a total colectomy and suffer with adhesions in my bowels which sometimes cause blockages with severe pain. It doesn’t matter what time of day or night, Dr Patel always responds. I have suffered with ulcerative colitis since my early 20’s and have been looked after by 5 gastroenterologists during that time, none can measure up to Dr Patel. My husband and I consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found him.

I always find dr Patel amazing, he listens to any concerns and even manages to read between the lines since I’m not always good at disclose or discuss all symptoms. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable which makes you feel safe and seen. He understands the emotional as well as the physical sides of both the illness and what is going on around and I really appreciate his approach to both. I do always walk away calm. I can’t rate dr Patel abs his team highly enough - the team at Ashtead being amazing. Thank you

I was diagnosed with 'Severe ulcerative colitis' nearly three years ago. Dr Patel is my gastroenterologist. I was in horrific pain, scared and deeply concerned about my future health. I was straight in hospital every time I flared up in the last two years. Every time I was treated with outstanding care and support. I have not deep enough words to use to thank him for his care, understanding, professionalism and help. He listens intensely to your concerns. Offers you the options and allows you to discuss, think about and choose your path forward, explaining the process. For this I was hugely grateful. I needed time to think, not rush and to try different options. The quick attentive care that was given to me, with respect and compassion came from not only him but the team at Epsom. I was fortunate to be placed in his care and definitely would recommend him to others. Suffering with such a horrendous condition, you need this type of Dr. He definitely knows his craft and handles each individual with respect. With illness on the increase and the NHS suffering, staff are under huge stress, I am impressed with the attention to patients even with behind the scenes pressures this doesn't show.
