I had a post-natal appointment with Dr Sheyin and was very disappointed with the care received. She only asked me about my bleeding and my next smear and there was no opportunity to talk about any concerns with myself or my baby. Additionally she did not ask about my mental health at all, which given I was under the peri-natal mental health team at the time was unbelievable. Bizarrely, I had my smear done at a different time and she was like a different person - friendly and gentle. Unfortunately I know of friends who have also had a poor experience of post-natal review and I would hope that Dr Sheyin can reflect on the impact of her attitude and behaviours to this very vulnerable group of women.

I was seen by dr Sheyin twice with my then newborn baby. From when I walked in each time I could see straight away her body language and way of speaking was as she couldn’t be bothered. The way she “examined” my son was very oblivious and careless for example she used stethoscope over 2 layers of clothes… I am aware of how correct examination looks like as I have a medical knowledge and other doctors at this surgery do it properly and are much more bothered helpful and professional. She also prescribed medication for my son based on her own assumption as the second time she didn’t even examine him just asked couple of questions and didn’t even want me to wake my son to see him. These visits were a few months ago, not even recently so writing this review was in my mind for ages… I would rather see any other doctor at the surgery as I had a good experience with anyone else that saw us.

I feel that Sheyin does not listen fully when you try to explain what is going on, and offers no support for those with mental health, or any other issues, I felt like I was let down and just not to be bothered with.
