While the cost of private healthcare outran me due to my financial position, the care I have received has been life changing in it's benefits to me. I was able to be diagnosed With ADHD within months instead of years, and treatment was offered shortly after that. The staff were very helpful and always reachable via the case notes section, replies were usually within 24 hours. While they were quick to provide the medication solutions (which are of course very important) I would like to see more coaching services introduced. Neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD often need to be attacked from multiple angles, and I believe that a coaching service to help develop coping strategies would be extremely beneficial alongside the medication.

I would recommend Psychiatry UK to anyone looking for a diagnosis of ADHD or similar neurodevelopmental conditions. The customer service is excellent and the wait time for an assessment was significantly shorter than it would be using local NHS neurodevelopmental diagnosis services.

I am being gaslit by the staff and now having my medication withheld from me. Much to the detriment of my mental health. I’m suffering severely with insomnia and unable to complete basic daily tasks. My GP isn’t referring me DBT based off a letter sent by you stating I didn’t attend an appointment, which I can prove I did attend.

Once you got an appointment it was good and the diagnostic process was quick however then there was a 4 month wait for medication which meant I struggled a lot with uni and was becoming very depressed. As with most healthcare services in the UK the staff themselves where lovely but the service is overloaded and the waiting list is now over a year I believe. If youre able to wait for a diagnosis then I recommend it but if you need immediate help perhaps look at other services

Brilliant experience from start to finish (apart from the wait to start but couldn't be helped), my titration nurse Vicki was incredibly attentive and very quick to respond with any issue I had all the way through her care. My psychiatrist Dr Mashru was also excellent, couldn't recommend them both highly enough. When I did need to contact customer service, phoning received a much faster response than messaging and again the members of staff I spoke to were very help and resolved the issue quickly. All in all a very good service and my ADHD treatment has changed my life for the better.

While I am super satisfied with my treatment by the nurse and doctor, I do feel it's important to underline that this sort of treatment should be available via a properly-resourced NHS. This service - even if it is a good one - is private and access to it through the NHS is heavily gatekept through long waiting times and many forms, meaning that many people are not getting the treatment that they deserve or are having to wait unreasonable amounts of time to get it.

Immediately given a diagnosis and treatment clearly explained . Sally our nurse prescriber has been amazing throughout. I was referred to Psych UK by my GP when I realized I had ADHD (and am autistic) in 2020. I decided not to pursue anything related to my autism, but the PUK doctor immediately noticed my autistic traits and pointed that out as well. My initial ADHD assessment with Dr. Sholinghur was well worth the wait and was as much an excellent doctor's appointment as it was a great conversation. Dr. Sholinghur was kind and conversational and listened to everything I had to say without getting annoyed by how chatty I am! When we were done, I had my ADHD diagnosis, had been recommended to get an autism diagnosis as well, and was put forward for titration. As good as my experience was with Dr. Sholinghur, my experience with my titration nurse and prescriber, Dean Tipton, was even better. Dr. Sholinghur was only involved for one appointment, whereas Dean has been by my side helping me through titration for seven months. He initially asked after what medication and supplements I was taking, and then asked for WHY I was taking what I was taking. When I explained at length about how I had been self-managing my own conditions for nearly 15 years, he immediately looped me in completely on the titration, asking what medication I wanted to try, and offering me several options at all times. I have other issues as well as the ADHD and autism, and Dean was wonderful at including them in every stage of the titration, including looking for the ideal medication to not only nip the majority of my ongoing chronic fatigue in the bud, but help to minimize my unbearable PMDD each month. Dean was an incredibly prompt responder to any and all messages I sent, never leaving me waiting for a response for longer than 12hrs, and was always happy to explain and talk me through decisions being made in regards to my medication, titration and future. Overall, Psych UK has been an incredible experience for me, and has completely turned my quality of life on its head, taking me from a barely functioning human being to an actual person who can stay awake for more than a few hours each day. I would recommend Psych UK to anyone who is looking for good care.
