I was very suspicious to get a diagnosis after just one hour, but Dr. Balu Pitchiah was so professional and attentive. He readily answered my questions and was very transparent throughout. Would definitely recommend Psychiatry UK for ADHD diagnosis.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review to let us know about your experience with P-UK. It is good to hear that you found your Consultant professional and attentive, and that you feel satisfied that all your questions have been answered. Although our assessments are time limited, our Consultants follow a rigorous diagnostic process to assess patient's symptoms against each of the DSM-5 criteria. A considerable amount of information is collected from the pre-assessment forms, so that the Consultant is able to form a picture of the patient's background, and note the symptoms the patient is experiencing not just as an adult, but also that caused problems in their earlier life. This allows the Consultant to use the assessment itself to ask further questions or to ask the patient to give examples of how symptoms affect or impede the patient's daily living activities, whether at home, in school or at work. Thank you for recommending our service, and I will pass on your feedback to Dr Pitchiah.

Psychiatry UK handled my recent Autism referral and assessment. The process was easy to follow and I was kept up to date with any developments. from initial referral to final assessment the process took a little over two months, which was much quicker than I had expected, but at no stage did anything feel rushed or incomplete. I couldn't be happier with the service I recieved.

Was referred to the ADHD service. The waiting times were long but were as per the website. Once I reached the top of the waiting list, services were prompt, communication was excellent and I felt like I was listened to and my concerns were taken into account. I was involved in decisions regarding my care. Excellent care. Would 100% recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to recommend Psychiatry-UK and feed back regarding your experience with our service. You have mentioned our waiting times, and we know that some of our patients are having to wait longer than we would like, due to the popularity of our service. We continually work to try to reduce these times through an ongoing recruitment programme for clinical staff and regular audits to find new ways to streamline our processes, and we can usually see patients faster than through local NHS routes. It is good to learn that once you reached the top of the list, you found all aspects of our service to be good, and .. the most important thing ... you are satisfied that you received excellent care. We wish you the best of luck in your onward journey.

As a remote/online service, the service I received was exceptional. The prescriber was professional and friendly. He responded quickly to my needs and I felt that the service he was giving me was very specific to what I needed, rather than a set of generalised, off the shelf responses or solutions. The only downside was when the system stopped alerting the prescriber to my messages/requests. As a result my medication ran out. I also had no response from the admin team during this period. But other than this one incident, everything has been excellent.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It is really helpful for us to hear about patient experiences, good or bad, so we can make sure we address any problems quickly or make changes to our processes if needed. It is good to hear that you had a good rapport with your prescriber, and that you found the advice he provided informative and tailored to your specific needs. However, we are concerned to learn that the portal stopped providing notifications, which resulted in your medication running out. It would be very helpful to find out about your experience in more detail, and I wonder whether you would be happy to reach out to our Patient Experience Team, who can look into this. If you would be happy to do so, please get in touch at: experience@psychiatry-uk.com. In the meantime, thank you for recommending our service.

At every step of the way psychiatry uk were amazing. Everything was explained thoroughly all information was easy to find and if I did have any questions staff were so helpful and quick to respond on the portal it was brilliant. They were very thorough with the information they needed from me and my family, the psychiatrist I spoke to was lovely and encouraging. Very knowledgeable and understanding. I have advised so many others to use psychiatry uk for such an amazing person centred service and care. I have even referred my daughter into the service I trust them so much to support her and evaluate her holistically without judgement or ‘putting words in her mouth’ Immensely grateful to be a patient and receive their help and guidance.

My experience with Dr Gupta wasn't ideal in my opinion. Whilst I got the diagnosis I was expecting and the overall ADHD right to choose referral period was quick and efficient with Psychiatry UK, I felt very rushed during the online appointment and as though I was just being asked questions from a form. This was an adult ADHD assessment and I wasn't given time to articulate or detail my experiences clearly and was constantly told 'These are just words, you need to give me examples', which I understand, but as somebody who has experienced these symptoms for decades it's hard to choose one or two examples as these are constant everyday experiences. The more rushed I was, the harder it became for me to answer questions as my brain struggled to describe and answer the way the doctor wanted me to. It didn't feel very accommodating for a neurodivergent person. For comparison, my initial referral phone call with the mental health nurse at my GP was far more relaxed and felt conversational as I was able to talk about my symptoms and experiences in detail rather than 'just give examples'. However, I am very pleased that I have a diagnosis and the overall experience with Psychiatry UK has been smooth.

Thank you for leaving a review to let us know about your experience with our service. Our assessments follow a strict process to ensure that each of the criteria of the DSM-5 are met, in order to determine whether an ADHD diagnosis can be made. Since the assessment is time-limited, the consultant takes time before the assessment to familiarise themselves with the information provided by the patient, and a close family member, friend or professional (‘informant’) in the pre-assessment forms. These include details of any problems that impede the patient’s daily living activities, both as an adult and at an early age, and prevent them from achieving ‘their best life’. This preparation allows the consultant to focus on clarifying or developing the information provided during the assessment itself. This might involve asking the patient to describe particular experiences more fully by providing examples, or asking any additional questions needed to reach an accurate diagnosis. Although we cannot look into individual cases on this platform, we do have a dedicated Patient Experience Team, who would be happy to discuss your experience in more detail. If you feel this would be beneficial, please do get in touch at: experience@psychiatry-uk.com. In the meantime, we are pleased that your experience overall has been smooth and we wish you the best of luck in your onward journey.
