I was seen by psych UK for an NHS referral for ADHD. The process was really fast actually all things considered, I believe I got referred in November 2021 and got seen by a psychiatrist in spring 2022, and was on titration for medication by June 2022. Everyone I interacted with throughout was nothing short of lovely - I felt validated and safe, and in addition my gender identity was respected throughout, which I appreciated. During the titration I felt comfortable bringing up side effects that concerned me and suggestions, and those comments were quickly and confidently recieved and responded to (for example, when I felt my medication gave me a severe crash in the afternoon, we trialled a different dose, as well as a fast release medication in the afternoon). The fact that the portal was online and text based was really helpful (especially for people with ADHD) and the whole thing felt really safe, well managed, and I felt confident that I was recieving a really high quality of care. Helen Spencer-Hicks was my prescriber, so I communicated with her the most, and she was genuinely incredible, so lovely and communicative, and my psychiatrist was excellent too. Truly will not stop singing my praises of this service to other people
