I was a patient with Psychiatry UK through RTC for an adult ADHD diagnosis and treatment titration. I am extremely thankful to the team at Psychiatry UK for their care, kindness and support. This has been a truly life changing experience and what started as a scary journey that I began alone quickly became an exciting look towards what I can achieve in the future with direct help every step of the way. I want to say an enormous thank you to my doctor and nurse prescriber. I felt that they listened carefully to me and gave thoughtful consideration towards my needs. They used their knowledge to explain what was happening and why I might be experiencing things related to the medication, to ADHD in general, and within my more complex medical needs and treatments. They also advised me on the other forms of support in addition to my medication that could aid me going forward. I received support quickly for any questions that I had and my treatment was adapted to best suit my personal lifestyle. The entire process was managed through an easy to use online portal, with a quick messaging system, and I was able to arrange prescriptions to be delivered directly to my address. The actual process of getting an ADHD diagnosis unfortunately involves a lot of paperwork and forms, but they made it as simple and easy to do as possible. I am leaving with the tools to be able to completely change my future. What I have been able to achieve during these months of titration is incredible when compared with years of trying and failing alone only to not understand why. I also now have answers as to why I struggle with certain things and the documents needed to request help from outside support. I am genuinely sad to be leaving this team upon ending my titration simply because I felt so cared for and supported here. A particular thank you to Dean Tipton for your incredible support and advice throughout this process. After receiving my diagnosis at PUK, several friends reached out to me saying that they were considering getting advice regarding ADHD themselves. I was able to confidently direct them towards PUK and they are now on their journey towards support as well. Thank you Psychiatry UK for all your help.
