I feel like i didnt get to properly explain my difficulties. After a long time waiting for this appointment, the 50 minutes flew by in a structured question/answer like manner: i did my best to answer the questions with enough info but feel like i barely scratched the surfaced and missed out so many important things. I feel like due to being abit anxious and nervous being on camera etc i was almost rambling and waffled quite alot which resulted in me barely getting my experience across to the doctor which in turn meant the doctor couldn't see much of anything wrong. The video and audio were fine. The advice given felt generic and almost dismissive of my symptoms. (It took a lot for me to get to finally speaking to someone and alot of struggle and heartache has led up to this appointment and in the end it felt like a rushed, awkward, formal question/answer interview type experience which ended with a dissappointing outcome of pretty much... "you seem fine"... also just feeling like i havent been heard, i dont feel like i got any personalised help or support but instead given some generic advice/redirecting to another mental health charity / service) The service received from PsychUK is only a 2. The pros are the accelerated waiting times compared to the NHS for similar services however the solely digital nature, rushed interview like appointments and the tickbox like diagnostic process means that patients are likely to be misdiagnosed and end up suffering with a great deal of stress as a result. Some will likely not seek help again and the fact that this is their one and only long awaited attempt at trying to get help means that a lot is riding on it yet when the appointment comes round its a generic seemingly rushed encounter that in the end felt like a waste of the wait leading to it.
