Professor Pereira has preformed DBS on my son Stephen twice, Stephen has numerous health problems other than his Parkinsons which makes his needs more complex . Stephen has mild learning difficulties and Erlick put him at ease straight away, he was honest and explained things in a way Stephen could understand, he gave him time to ask any questions and express any concerns. Unfortunately the DBS failed the first time due to infection, no fault of the hospital as Stephen has a weakend immune system, we did not hesitate to return a second time for DBS. Erlick liased with multidiciplinary team members both at at Georges and our local hospital (we live in the north east) to ensure Stephen had the best possible care plan, tailored to meet Stephens specific needs. This time DBS has been successful and Stephen is so much better, Erlick has kept in touch to help and support Stephen , although he still has a way to go under the care of prof Morgante, we are so happy with the way they have worked together to ensure the best treatment for Stephen. The fact that we travel almost 300miles for surgery and treatment for Stephen is testament to their care and continued support .We would like to say a huge Thankyou to Erlic and the team for taking such good care of our boy.

Professor Pereira is plainly an expert in his field. I was extremely impressed with the care and treatment which I received from him. He went out of his way to schedule my spinal injection to accommodate my travel commitments at some inconvenience both to himself and his anaesthetist. He is very kind and it has been a pleasure to meet and receive help from him. I would heartily recommend him.

I had a microdiscectomy with Dr Erlick Pereira around 10 weeks ago, and I honestly can’t believe the progress I’ve made. If you’re reading this and unsure if you should get one, do it, you will quite literally have your life back. Just 10 weeks ago, I couldn’t even walk 50 steps without pain — now I’m comfortably doing 7,000 steps a day. I can even walk for over an hour at a time, something I haven’t been able to do for years. From my initial diagnosis (L5 S1) to the organisation of my surgery (which was booked in a week after my consultation) to reassurance from himself and Karen, to my followup appt, everything felt easy and convenient. For context, I’m not typically a health anxious individual but having so much pain and seeing a few surgeons for the same issue started to wear down on me and my mental health. Once I saw Dr Erlick Pereira, he calmed my nerves and helped me realise that this surgery is very common. Not only this, but he checked in on me before the surgery, after the surgery and the morning after too. A huge thank you to his PA, Karen, who sat on the phone to me on Bank Holiday for 20 minutes reassuring me when I wasn’t feeling 100%. She has answered every question I have (there have been many!) and always made sure I had support. If you’re thinking about getting this surgery, really think about which surgeon you are going for. I spoke to a few and didn’t feel 100% comfortable until I met Dr Erlick Pereira and I thought his reviews were too good to be true. The first surgeon I went to worried me so much and told me that my scar would be 10cm long. My scar with Dr Erlick Pereira is about 3cm and it’s getting smaller and smaller every week. All I can say is thank you so much!

Mr Pereira was my surgeon for DBS surgery at St Georges. For something as scary as the idea of brain surgery, I felt very confident that everything would be OK, mostly due to Mr Pereira’s experience and expertise in the field. Every interaction with him was reassuring, from the initial consultation to the follow-up appointment. He is very professional, kind, listens well, answered all of my questions, and most importantly is a superb surgeon. I would 100% recommend him to anyone, without hesitation.

I saw Erlick after 9 years of managing my chronic back condition. Erlick performed a micro-discectomy which I can honestly say has changed my life. I had reduced mobility for maximum a month after the operation and since then I have been pain free for the first time in 9 years for a few consecutive weeks. I would have no hesitation recommending him.

Great attentiveness, care, and patient-centred outcomes. After care was also great.

I came to see Dr. Pereira for a second opinion after being told by another doctor that I potentially have to live with back pain for the rest of my life (I’m in mid-40s), having had back pain for 1.5 years. Few weeks later I was booked in for a micro discectomy and two months later I was pain free. Dr. Pereira listened and recommended surgery after which I’m no longer in pain. He was very reassuring, surgery at the London Clinic went well, I was home the next day and he was great at answering questions post procedure. Needless to say I would recommend Dr. Pereira wholeheartedly!

Before I met Mr Erlick Pereira, I was aware that he had earlier this year performed 100th deep brain stimulation. This milestone was a first in the UK private hospital sector and reflects the hospital’s commitment to providing patients with exceptional, innovative medical care. Based upon this, I was confident that Mr Pereira would be able to help me. As I discussed my condition with him within minutes his expertise filled me with relief and confidence that he would be prepared to operate and give me pain relief. He carefully explained my operation procedure (revision of old electrodes and Neurostimulator) and the risks involved. Reflecting on my consultation on way home, I was confident that Mr Erlick Pereira’s exceptional and pioneering medical skills would provide me with the pain relief I’d sought for so long. There needs to be a robust referral system within the medical profession that enables patients to be referred to specialists like Mr Erlick Pereira easily. I only found him by chance.
