A huge thank you to Mr Sivarajah and his team for the follow up surgery and fantastic aftercare in the hospital. I felt very safe in his care.

In May 2026 I came into hospital extremely unwell needing emergency surgery. With little notice, Mr Sivarajah performed what was essentially life saving surgery in the middle of the night. Beforehand he was incredibly calm, professional and kind, which provided a lot of comfort for my family and I at a very distressing time. He explained what the procedure would involve and the associated risks, and gave my family a realistic understanding of my likely condition in the ICU after surgery. During my time in hospital, his care was amazing and he was incredibly reassuring. He addressed any arising health complications promptly and always took the time to explain everything to me in detail and answer any questions I had. He ensured that I understood the potential outcome for each scenario and I always felt fully able to trust his decisions. He went out his way to keep my family updated with relevant information, often speaking with them on the phone to ensure they were aware of what was going on. I really appreciated the time and effort he consistently put into my care. He exceeded my expectations in a number of ways and I’m so grateful to have had Mr Sivarajah as both a surgeon and a consultant. I cannot imagine I would be where I am in my recovery now had it not been for his competence and dedication. I would highly recommend his services and am incredibly thankful for all he has done for me and my family.

I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in April 2026. Following all my tests it was decided I should have surgery to remove part of my bowel where the cancer was. When I first met with Mr Sivarajah I had confidence in him straight away. He was kind had empathy and the best bedside manner I have ever known in a doctor. He explained everything about the operation including things that could go wrong. He operated on me on 20.05.26. The operation was a complete success and I am now at home recovering. I cannot thank Mr Sivarajah and his team for the care I was given. Mr Sivarajah as far as I am concerned saved me from having to undergo any more treatment for my cancer by doing a splendid job. I thank him from the bottom of my heart. He is a true asset to our marvellous NHS.

Mr Vernon was absolutely brilliant and an incredible human being throughout my wife's treatment. He has genuinely restored my faith in the NHS, and I cannot express enough how grateful we are for everything he has done. His skill as a surgeon is exceptional, but what truly sets him apart is the care, compassion, and understanding he shows his patients. My wife has additional learning difficulties, and from the very beginning he took the time to explain everything clearly, reassure her, and constantly put her at ease. His calm and caring manner made an enormous difference during what was an incredibly difficult and frightening time for our family. In fact, my wife initially refused to have the surgery, but thanks to Mr Vernon's patience, kindness, and the trust he built with her, she agreed to go ahead with the procedure. Today, she is cancer-free, and we will always be thankful for that. If every doctor showed the same level of professionalism, compassion, and dedication as Mr Vernon, the NHS would be an even more remarkable place. We can never thank him enough for the care he provided and for ultimately helping to save my wife's life. Thank you again, Mr Vernon. You have made a lasting difference to our family, and we will never forget what you have done for us.

Came in to PAH for Colorectal surgery which was performed by Mr Vernon Sivarajah who I found to be a very honest, straight speaking consultant who explained in clear terms what the operation involved and the possible risks and outcome. He instilled a sense of confidence in him which helped me both before and after surgery and his level of aftercare was above and beyond excellent. A truly great surgeon and human being .

Yesterday I had a colonoscopy as an 18 month follow up to bowel surgery for colon cancer. Coincidentally Mr Sivarajah was the original surgeon for my successful surgery so it was nice to see he was performing the follow-up colonoscopy on me. The whole procedure went smoothly with minimal discomfort and only one polyp found and removed and I was able to go home immediately with no issues for the remainder of the day.

Dr Vernon Sivarajah was extremely professional and considerate in his approach and clear in his presentation of information relating to my bowel condition I had and the operation needed. His follow up after surgery whilst I was in hospital was again informative, exact and well explained. Equally, in my post discharge meeting with him he was very helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending him or the members of his team that I dealt with prior to surgery and on the ward.

I meet with him first time in February. He was very friendly with me, he told me the truth what is the really problem, and reasons as well. And what I need to do, what is the best before surgery. I know he can help me about back to my normal life. I was happy to talk with him.

Mr Sivarajah and the whole team treated me wonderfully. They kept me informed all the way through my procedure and put my mind at rest. I can't fault anything. Thank you.
