If I could give Simon Monkhouse more than 5 stars I would. He is the ultimate professional, caring and very understanding. This was my third op by Simon- I think I will be getting frequent flyer points soon. He takes time to explain everything, and ensures that you understand before proceeding. Right from the first consultation, through to the aftercare his empathy and knowledge is first class. If you are unfortunate to require surgery, you couldn’t have any one better that Mr Monkhouse. Even his work companions say that he is one of the best upper GI surgeons around. What a better recommendation could you get?

I recently had my gallbladder removed by Mr. Simon Monkhouse and I must say how very professional, but also very kind and thoughtful he was throughout the whole procedure which certainly helped ease my trepidation. The procedure (from which I recovered very quickly) was a complete success without any side affects or complications. Simon is a very personable surgeon and his 'bedside manner' and communication is the best I have experienced. I cannot thank him enough!

Simon removed my infected Gall Bladder in June . From the day of the surgery, through to my recovery, he has been a truly amazing and ' hands on' professional. He kept me and my family informed of progress, every step of the way, and we were able to contact him ,at any time,throughout the healing process, if we had any queries, however small, we were never made to feel we were being a nusiance. During my short stay at Gatwick Spire, after the operation, I was looked after, and made very comfortable, by Andrew and the rest of the nursing staff, who cared for me ' post op.'..Simon called in to see me as soon as I returned from theatre, and he was there first thing the next morning. He could not have been more diligent in his visits and check ups, which was so very reassuring. The whole team at Gatwick Park were wonderful, from Margaret and the rest of the girls on reception, to Louise, Debbie and the Rest of the Nurses in Outpatients. Simon is, in my opinion, a truly, skilful, competent, caring Surgeon, and I would like to thank him for getting me back to full health, and making the whole process as streamlined and pleasant as he did. I have just finished my treatment to remedy problems with reflux at Spire Gatwick Park and I must say I find Simon Monkhouse to be a very kind and sincere person and a lovely surgeon. I felt that I was made fully aware of what would happen through every stage of my treatment and eventual operation and its all thanks to Simon, Kay and the entire team at the hospital. The follow up care I received was excellent and four weeks down the line I am fully recovered. I feel I can totally recommend Simon as an excellent bariatric surgeon.

I did a lot of research to find the right barriactric surgeon to perform my gastric sleeve operation and up came the name "Simon Monkhouse From start to finish Simon, Kay and all his team have been caring, supportive, always at the end of a phone, nothing too much trouble, checking you are ok, any worries your mind put at rest. . . . .
