I had been experiencing severe pain for some months I went back and forth to my GP and given Antibiotics each time to no avail. My pain got so bad that I called an ambulance and was taken to A & E at East Surrey Hospital and was admitted straight away. I had an x-ray which showed I had a lot of gallstones. Mr Monkhouse came to tell me that I was going for an emergency operation to remove them and possibly remove the Gallbladder. After the op he came to talk to me and told me that my gallbladder was completely gangrenous. I had a near death experience, but he saved my life and for that I will be eternally grateful to him. I stayed in hospital for 8 days and Simon and his team came to check on me and my progress every morning answering my questions and giving me reassurance,he is so easy to talk to, he has a lovely bedside manner and obviously enjoys his work and cares for his patients. He arranged for an M.R.I. to check all was clear. We discussed the results at my follow up appointment and all is well. If it was,nt for him I would not be here to write this so again a great big THANK YOU.
