I was experiencing severe pains in and around my stomach and having gone back and forth from my GP and AE it turned out that I had a gallstone. Simon performed an emergency operation (keyhole) to remove the gallstone and gallbladder. I was and forever will be grateful that Simon and his team were on hand to help me in what was the most painful 10 days of my life. As soon as the doctors at East Surrey hosptial identified the problem I had the surgery within 48 hours, which was fantastic because it demonstrated how quickly and efficiently Simon and his team acted. Simon's nature was very reassuring and he explained the operation, how it went and next steps in a clear manner. I was kept in hosptial for 3 days after the operation and Simon checked in on me every morning to see how I was doing. Simon clearly cares very much about his work and patients and when you're vulnerable having that support makes all the difference in the world. I had a follow up appointment with Simon after he arranged for me to have an MRI scan - we sat and discussed the results of the scan and he reassured me about any concerns I had. I'll never be able to thank Simon and his team enough for what they did and how quickly and efficiently they did it!
