Mr whittaker showed no compassion or empathy towards me. He was forthright in telling me that i was too fat for any surgeon to consider me for surgery even if it were possible. Although i do know i am overweight there are ways of telling a patient this without embarasing them when they are already uncomfortable because of their condition. I do not think Mr Whittaker would have spoken to me in this manner if I had been a private patient. After this conversation I had to have an internal examination so by this time I felt extremely upset and vulnerable and just wanted to leave the surgery.
