Mr Chowdray is an amazing surgeon. From the first interview I was spoken to in a manner which was reassuring and which I could understand. I couldn't have asked for more from his care during and after my operation.

The whole experience went very smoothly & reassuringly, from moment I met Mr Chowdhry at Spire Hospital. He showed me the state of my hip on my x-ray, & confirmed he would be replacing my hip joint and that it was a relatively straight forward operation that he had performed many times before. On the day of the operation, Mr Chowdhry checked I was all prepared before I went into surgery, & had I any questions. A few hours after the op, he arrived at my bedside & confirmed all had gone to plan . And again on my visit 7 weeks after the operation, he showed me my new hip in place on the x-ray , confirming he was happy with the result. As indeed I was , thank you Mr Chowdhry.

Before my operation, I had become quite anxious about the issue of anaesthesia; Mr Chowdhry not only listened to my concerns but allayed my fears, explaining that patients have far more control over proceedings than they actually realise. In fact he accommodated my { I think unusual} request to remain conscious throughout the procedure. I believe his view is that ultimately there are three players in an operation: the surgeon, the patient and the anaesthetist. Even after the operation, whilst his patients are still in hospital, he will find the time to check in with them each day. This is a doctor who understands people
