I was unfortunate enough to develop a Moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma on my ear. This was completely excised by Dr Indran Balasunderam and the team at Hillingdon Hospital. I was given a clear understanding of the procedure and the post operation care I needed to take. At the follow up review Dr Balasunderam examined me and checked my face and neck & informed me about the seriousness of the carcinoma I had experienced, the likelihood of a reoccurrence and the Dermatology follow up procedure that was to take place. Thoroughly professional with a reassuring manner I can highly recommend him in the Oral & Maxillofacial field.

I have just been given the 'all clear' for 3 BCCs on my forehead and scalp, the first two operations were done as 'local' anaesthetic at Hillingdon and the last under 'general' at Northwick Park, all done by Mr Bala. I work in a hotel, customer facing, looking after VIPs, guests with previous issues and families with children who need our special care for one reason or another, I only say this to illustrate how important my appearance is to me, not just as a woman but a woman who needs to feel confident in her day to day role, I was faced with the possibility of having a considerable bald patch due to the need for a skin graft, then I met Mr Bala. This gentleman understood entirely and was able to remove the BCC on my forehead, hiding the scar in my hair. The second BCC was much larger and in my hair, the scalp is too tight to move so he followed a different procedure to allow closure, no skin graft so I am able to hide it myself with a fringe whilst I wait for the hair to grow, the third one was removed with no such worries and I am beyond delighted and relieved. Mr Bala is a skilled, compassionate, gentle and caring surgeon. He sees that one size does not fit all and tailors his approach accordingly. I am super thankful to him and his team who made me feel confident of an outcome that had been fully explained to me before each surgery. He is a good listener which is how he understands completely the different things that each of us find important and vital to our ongoing lives, he completely sees that we must all live with his work for the rest of our lives, and I know, and can see from all the feedback, we are all very lucky indeed that we went in front of him. Thank you Mr Bala, I am forever grateful to you and wish you all the luck in the world - you are a great man and should be enormously proud of yourself.

Mr Indran Balasundaram and his department have treated me for various skin cancers always to my satisfaction and with great courtesy. In November 2022, in a routine check up, they they discovered, to my surprise, that I had Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. I was speedily transferred to the Haematology Department where I again had excellent treatment including chemotherapy which resulted in the cancer being completely cured. I cannot thank Mr Indran Balasundram enough for the speedy and excellent treatment I have received.

the doctor listened attentively to my concerns and answered all of my questions. He demonstrated genuine care throughout my visits before and after the surgery of my head. Dealing with NHS for the past 2 months was horrible and Dr Balasundaram has been the only doctor that actually cared and helped as much as he could.

Dr Balasundaram is a very caring and professional Dr , who makes you feel very at ease . From before surgery to aftercare Dr Balasundaram shows that he really cares about his patients. He will manage your expectations and warn you of possible complications before surgery, but you can feel that he will do his best , so feels you with confidence. I had a bad fall and fractured my jaw in 3 places. A terrifying experience. It was my good luck that I was placed in the care of Mr Balasundaram. He is highly skilled and carried out 2 operations on me both of which have since healed with no problems. I am extremely pleased with the result and mr balasundaram was professional and kind throughout. Very greatful for everything he has done for me.

I had two years of care followed by surgery at Northwick Park closely overseen by Dr B. He is everything I would expect a good doctor to be. Very attentive and very skilled. His handling of my case made the whole experience bearable. He inspires trust and confidence in the hospital and I would fully reccommend him.
