Dr Jan was open about what the surgery was to entail and informed me well of the risks involved. I was incredibly nervous however I was had a lot of confidence in him. Post operatively I saw him daily and he was able to answer my questions and gave me good advice on how to aid recovery, I took these tips and it did exactly that.

I have been an inpatient in University Lewisham Hospital for four weeks. Mr Janakan has been part of my general surgery team who has superbly supported me through out my stay. Mr Janakan has seen me many times during my stay to assess my condition and keep me informed on plans and any updates to my medical condition. Mr Janakan is an asset to the hospital. He always made sure I fully understood all the information about my care and any questions I had were answered to my understanding. I felt he truly cared for my well being and ensured I was receiving the best care possible. I felt comfortable and was at ease due to his compassion and expertise. I am so appreciative to Mr Janakan for all of the support, kindness, understanding and the high level of care I received from him as I battled the most terrifying times of my life.

I found Mr Janakan to be very personable and friendly. He listened intently to my symptoms and explained his prognosis in terminology that I could understand. After my procedure, he explained the next course of action, very well which helped to alleviate any anxiety I was feeling. I can't think how he could improve as I think he is excellent at what he does and has a very good bedside manner.

Dr Gnananandan took great care of me. I found him to be very approachable and quickly put me at ease. He was took the time to diligently explain everything regarding my treatment to me. He was patient, attentive and most importantly I found that he listened to me. He answered every question I had in a forthright, factually led manner, that was clear and concise and in a way that was easy to understand. I felt very at ease with him whenever he came to updating me regarding my treatment. Mainly due to the fact that he never appeared too busy or rushed to listen and was very relatable. He was informative, and such provided excellent care.
