Really lovely doctor and explained everything
I met Dr Bodansky on the day of surgery and he was immediately engaging and friendly. He listened to my concerns and responded in a kind and caring manner. His theatre team were professional and compassionate.
I have no reservations about the care I received so my suggestions are about admin aspects. As a patient it would be helpful to have some idea of your place in the queue and when you might be seen.
Also, the need to wait for a prescription of painkillers delayed my discharge by four hours or so. Can this process not be speeded up by issuing a prescription to be fulfilled at any chemist? It was a routine painkiller so imagine readily available. It seemed an unnecessary wait for me as well as the staff waiting to close up the ward,
I would also suggest a FAQs sheet be issued or link to advice about post op care. You don’t always take in what you’re being told in the hospital.
Dr Bodanski has been very responsive to my need. For example I sent him an email with a concern and he telephoned in response within 24hrs. I am also impressed how he absorbs all that is said at an appointment and immediately dictates it into a patient record/instructions for further actions resulting in soonest correspondence to patient and their GP and soonest booking of future tests/appointments/other actions required. He is very personable and I have felt that he likes me and cares.
The staff at Tonbridge Wells were very efficient, I was seen quickly by the doctor and had a good experience.
