I snapped my bicep tendon on the monkey bars during Tough Mudder. In order to get the best outcome, I sought advice from Private Health care which was impressive but expensive. However, once I spoke to Mr Makki, I had my operation the next day on NHS. I was pleased with my decision. Everything went really well. 6 weeks on and I am back to lifting weights. My recovery was quicker than expected. I am so glad I followed my instinct to go with Mr Makki. He also fixed my wife's wrist 5 years ago. Please look no further. You are in good hands. Mr Makki took over my NHS care when the previous consultant retired. He has performed two operations on my shoulder, one on the NHS and more recently, at my choice, the second privately. In both situations, I felt he listened fully to my concerns, he was able to make an immediate and accurate diagnosis- initially prior to any imaging. He explained my treatment options and made it clear that even if I decided to postpone surgery, he would not discharge me from his care until the issue was sorted. At no point did I feel pressured in one direction or another regarding my treatment choice and at every step, he took time to clearly explain procedures and possible outcomes. After both lots of surgery he took time to visit on the ward to inform me as to how the surgery had gone and in follow up appointments explained the images of the procedure. During recovery he has been reassuring and supportive and I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to his care. Thank you for bringing a journey of 8 years to a successful close.

Mr Makki explained what the problem was. He showed me the pictures of my MRI scan and told me in detail the operation he was planning to do, also made me aware that he might only be able to perform a partial repair. Before the operation he made sure I understood what would happen and phoned me on the ward on a Saturday to tell me the result of the operation. Every time I saw Mr Makki he was charming and informative, I can’t think of an improvement he could have made!
