Mr Bailey was welcoming, understanding and professional in his consultation. He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns fully. On the day of the operation he came to explain exactly what was going to happen and then visited In the evening to update on how the surgery went.

I would like to say how great mr Bailey and his team were when I had my recent op for a knee replacement. Their care was exceptional and every step was explained to me so I knew what lay ahead. Before, during and after the op their care was brilliant and I felt I was in safe hands. I cannot thank them all enough. Mr Bailey did a great job with the op. His care through it all as been marvellous and my recovery is going well after the op. Thank you so much. Please keep the great work up mr Bailey you are special consultant and I was very lucky to have you carry out my operation Danny Gowans

From initial diagnosis, through treatment and after-care Mr Bailey and his whole team at Sarum Road, Winchester, gave me nothing but professionalism, consideration, advice, information, excellent care and consideration. I cannot recommend Mr Bailey and his team highly enough. It was my first 'major' NHS operation so I didn't know what to expect but I needn't have worried. The service was speedy, very efficient and provided with enthusiasm and compassion. I have nothing but thank-you's with which to repay them. One of my main worries was about the anaesthetic as it related to my own personal history, specifically spinal anaesthetic as I'd had meningitis as a baby. Both the NHS website and Mr Bailey confirmed that the anaesthetist would discuss options with me nearer the time, on the day of the operation. I was totally reassured by the experience and calmness of the anaesthetist who gave me huge confidence to proceed despite my nerves. It would have been helpful to me personally if I could perhaps have had that conversation earlier in the process to reduce my concerns however this may not have been possible (and I didn't ask) and I have nothing but gratitude and respect for the work that the team does and did on my behalf. I would totally recommend Mr. Bailey to anyone needing a knee replacement operation. Thank you so much!

This doctor made me feel at ease all the times I have seen him. He takes the time to explain what is going to happen.

I had been referred to Mr Bailey by my GP following a number of consultations I had had with physiotherapists regarding my arthritic knee where I had been advised to wait for up to 10 more years for a knee replacement or have expensive injections.I do appreciate that physiotherapists are probably encouraged to delay or avoid operations as far as possible. However, as an active person keen on walking and cycling, I was finding it difficult to walk more than a mile or two without significant pain and could not see the sense in waiting a further 10 years for a knee replacement. Once referred to Mr Bailey, he listened carefully to my issues and offered a partial knee replacement which has proved to be extremely beneficial. I was very impressed with the way he listened to the problems I had been having and the speed with which we came to a decision on treatment and the operation was offered. Mr Bailey comes across as being very efficient and a good decision maker. He is also friendly and approachable and is genuinely interested in how you are feeling and getting on. Since the op my former very active life of walking and cycling has been restored for which I am very grateful to Mr Bailey and his staff. The treatment I have received pre and post operation from hospital staff has been first class, from the staff on the reception desk to the nurses in the ward, doctors in Mr Bailey's team who have reviewed my progress, and the X-ray team. It has been a very positive experience all round.
