I was very nervous when I was referred to the Breast Clinic following months of pain in my right side. The radiologist who did my mammogram was very friendly and professional. I did not have to wait long before I was called into see Miss Kirkpatrick. She said my mammogram showed no sign of breast cancer, which was a great relief. Miss Kirkpatrick was very professional , and very caring. Miss Kirkpatrick was very approachable and gave me time to explain my symptoms and my concerns. I left the clinic feeling very reassured. All the staff at the Breast Clinic were very friendly and helpful. Top marks to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

After receiving the devastating news that I had breast cancer,I wanted to share my positive experience and give praise to the remarkable team at the L+D Hospital.Following diagnosis, the compassionate and caring support I received from all the staff at the NHS including the radiographers, ward staff, right down to the receptionist was truly appreciated, with special thanks going to my Brest surgeon Miss Katharine Kirkpatrick a amazing caring lady, also a big thank you to my breast nurse Di Reid, and my Macmillan nurse Jan Chalkley.They supported me through diagnosis, treatment an surgery.The after-care I received was impeccable and even when I got post-surgery infection, their attention and compassion were ceaseless. I cannot thank Miss Kirkpatrick and her wonderful team enough. They have made my journey to recovery so much easier.

Dr Kirkpatrick was efficient, approachable and professional in her manner towards myself and I cannot fault any care given at my appointment. In fact all the staff at the breast clinic were fantastic. From reception through to nurses and doctor.

She was so understanding and caring and explained everything in nice easy terms to put me at ease. I trust her completely and cant wait to get this over and done with, as I know she must have to explain these difficult circumstances to people every day, it takes a very special kind of person to do this and that is obviously what she is.

An amazing doctor who listens to what you have to say. She takes time to discuss you treatment. Explain the causes, symptoms etc. She is sympathetic if necessary. After weeks of pain Kathryn Kirkpatrick offered my a solution. A change of medication etc. But most of all she gave me time.
