A good experience. Clear about what was known about my condition and what was uncertain and risk. I was unable to attend in person for my final consultation but this was arranged by phone with photos and I found satisfactory ( if not as timely as I would have wished)

Miss Akolekar put me completely at ease at a time I was feeling very vulnerable and afraid of my diagnosis. Her easy to understand explanations allowed me to regain some control and make informed decisions about my treatment. I appreciated her caring approach and feel confident I am in very good hands. Her secretary and clinical nurse specialist have also been a great support in helping me through this anxious time.

From the moment I was diagnosed with breast cancer, my experience with Miss Akolekar has been extremely positive. She was reassuring while realistic, always answered my questions, made sure I understood every part of my treatment. After surgery I am very happy with not only the removal of all the cancer but also my appearance. Miss Akolekar is a fantastic surgeon and I trust her completely. No hesitation in recommending her to other patients.

Miss Akolekar is very caring and gentle in nature, and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit. She is knowledgeable on the subject of breasts, and explained my condition thoroughly to me. When she told me that there was nothing to worry about, I felt that everything had been properly checked out and that I could trust her opinion. The centre in general had a very relaxed, friendly and calming atmosphere, and made what might have been a rather daunting experience actually very pleasant.

This was my first mammogram so I was a little nervous and worries about the pains I’d been experiencing. I got to chat with the consultant first for an examination, she explained everything fully to me, then off for my mammogram and back to the consultant for the results. Some leaflets and advice on hun to check myself and other useful info m - all done within the hour...excellent service!
