I have been on the borderline of being diabetic for upto 12 years - the last Glucose Tolerance test I took at Medway Maritime Hospital in 2009 was about one unit off ( 5 or 7) being diabetic. However since then I have been told by my wife that the patient should be told their HBA1C levels. So I have been sent lots of info about HBA1C levels without being told what mine is. Therefore the information is not useful unless I know what my HBA1C is. I believe 48 is the cut off point ? I have just been on holiday for 10 days, a cruise from Malta to the Greek Isles, and eating and drinking far more than we normally do. And I am just recovering from sore knees and ankles (and a broken big toenail which has come off) due to my excursions to track down Greek ruined temples on lofty peaks. But overall I am quite fit and enjoying life - compared with ten years ago when I retired from 40 years teaching with a mini stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol
